[Date Released: 08-2-2007] Life changing money up for grabs every week day afternoon Endemol owned Initial has been commissioned to produce two new game shows for ITV1, scheduled for Spring 2007. For the Rest of Your Life (40 x 60 minutes) provides an amazing opportunity for its contestants. Couples will be given the chance to win themselves a pay cheque, every month, of every year… for the rest of their lives. The man behind Endemol’s hit show Deal or No Deal, Dick de Rijk is the creator of this brand new format. Hosted by Nicky Campbell (Watchdog, Radio Five Live), For the Rest of Your Life is a game that leaves the general knowledge aside – there are no questions and therefore no answers. All each couple needs are nerves of steel. The first half of the game sees the players attempt to build up a substantial monthly sum. In the second half, they start playing for time... just how long can the couple win their pay cheque for? The second commission, Golden Balls (40 x 60 minutes) is a game of luck, intuition and barefaced bluff. One hundred ‘golden balls’ concealing different cash amounts are up for grabs. Players must try to find and hang on to the balls containing life-changing amounts of money. But they also need to avoid the dreaded ‘killer balls’, which can turn tens of thousands into pennies within seconds. Liam Keelan, ITV's Controller of Daytime, says “Both these shows will be fresh and exciting additions to the afternoon schedule, which is performing very well this year.” Tom Blakeson, executive producer of both shows with Andy Rowe, adds; “It's fantastic that ITV believe in Golden Balls and For the Rest of Your Life as much as we do. It's very exciting to be working with them on both these formats.” Commissioning Editor: Liam Keelan |
